That's right, we've decided to make the next big leap and buy a home! I have never been so excited and so terrified all at the same time! This is such a HUGE commitment and I am the most indecisive person in the world... However, I absolutely cannot wait to get out of our tiny one bedroom/700 square foot apartment. I'm 1,000% sick of it! Since Jared decided he was only going to apply to the U for PA school, we thought "why not start putting our money into something instead of throwing it down the drain???"
Lucky for us, my brilliant brother-in-law owns a fantastic mortgage business and another one of my sisters-in-law is the world's best real estate agent! I'm SO thankful for all they've both done for us! It really has made us that much more excited about being home owners!
We have mostly been looking at town homes. Yes, obviously we would love to have our own single-family home. But I am SO picky... For how picky I am, there's no way we could afford our own home with my standards ;) But the town homes we have seen have been super nice! Most of them are brand spankin' new and super modern.
So... We have narrowed our search down to two, and I'm excited to see them both again next Saturday so we can try to make up our minds... But right now we don't know what to do! We've looked all around the valley from Draper to Woods Cross, and we found two that we're torn between. It comes down to what is our most important aspect right now in our lives.
One of them is in, ahem, Midvale, so... not in the most ideal location... Yes, I would probably lie about which city I live in. And yes, I am vain. BUT, the layout of the home is a-mazing!!! I really can't get it out of my head. It's just so ME. The master bedroom has a balcony, humungous kitchen, granite countertops, double vanity in the master bathroom, super wide staircase... Just SO nice. And it's in a brand new community, so we would have the option of starting from scratch and building our own home if we wanted! Picking out colors, upgrades, etc. And they even offered to sell us the model home if that's the one we really wanted.
And then there's the other one... This one is in Draper. Exactly the opposite problem as the other one... Obviously, it's in an awesome [yes, somewhat prestigious] location. I wouldn't feel ashamed to say where I lived ;) Again, it's a new community as well and it's right next to Harmon's ;) My fave! The inside of this one was also nice, but the model home we saw was basically ALL upgrades... Sweet wood floors, awesome tiled backsplash in the kitchen... Everything that I fell in love with is an upgrade. So I'm sure we'd be spending more than we should.
For some reason, I really can't get the Midvale one out of my head. But I keep thinking, "it's in Midvale." UGH! I know, call me a brat, but I've never pictured myself living in Midvale. But then again, on the other hand, I keep thinking that this is not our forever home. Of course I would love to end up in the Draper area some day, but does that really matter right now??
I need your opinions! Which is more important to you, loving the layout of your home or location???

When Life Gives You Lemons... Make Lemonade?
.......no, wait, I like this quote MUCH, much better:
"When life gives you cold water,
BOIL IT!"
~Rachel Wilburn.
That's right. This has been how I've spent the majority of my Sunday afternoon! Who's jealous??? You should be.
Jared and I went running at the park this morning [first time I've run outside since my knee started hurting... which, by the way, doesn't hurt anymore!!! Hallelujah!], so obviously, the first thing I wanted to do when we got home was take a nice hot shower! Jared had to go to his internship, so he showered first and then I got a little lazy and waited to shower for a bit. I went in to shower and the water would not heat up! What in the world! I tried all of our faucets and nothing was running hot water. Great.
I was desperate for a shower at this point, so I got out the pots and started boiling! Yep! It took me about an 45 minutes of running from the kitchen to the tub to the kitchen, etc, etc, etc... but I finally got a somewhat decent bath ready! NEVER have I appreciated hot water so much! It seriously stressed me out when I pulled the plug in the tub and watched all my hard-earned hot water go down the drain so quickly.

X infinity!
Moral of the story: Appreciate your never ending hot showers, people!!! I sure do!

Jazz vs Lakers
For Christmas, I got Jared two tickets to the Jazz versus Lakers game! We've been super excited to go! And I'm starting to think we're lucky charms when we go to sporting events... I really thought the Jazz would do a lot worse [I know, no faith], but the game was SO much fun! It ended up going into overtime and unfortunately the Jazz lost :( 90-87. But it was such a great game! So intense!
Ah, it would have been the PERFECT game if we would have just won. I hate those stupid Lakers! Correction: I hate that alien-head rapist Kobe. But I won't go there, that's for another time ;)
Thanks JAZZ for playing pretty amazingly for us!!!
Once a Jazz fan, always a Jazz fan!

New Years Resolution
I know New Years Resolutions are kind of cliche, but honestly, I've never once seriously made one before! Crazy, right? This year, I'm 100% determined to accomplish mine!
I know you're all SO tired of me talking about my running woes, but my resolution is:
[surprise surprise] finish my half marathon!
After all my knee problems, this is a HUGE goal for me! After completing physical therapy, I officially started my training on Monday. I ran 2 miles and my knee hurt. Obviously, I was very discouraged, but I've gotten to a point that I just don't care. I WILL keep training whether my knee lets me or not! But, I went running again last night and my knee didn't hurt at all! Can you believe it?! It hasn't not hurt in months! I don't want to get my hopes up but I was thrilled! The other night I was thinking about how my right leg is always the leg that I have crossed while sitting [and Jared always tells me how bad it is to do that], so all day yesterday I wouldn't let myself cross my legs. I know it's probably so dumb, but I really think that made a difference! It just seems ironic that it's my right knee that hurts, yet while sitting, it's always my right knee that's crossed over my left. I know, laugh it up.
Oh, and what's another one of my resolutions? Get toned and buff, of course! Guess what we're ordering tomorrow? P90X. And I'm gonna DO IT! Boo yah! Bring it sucka's!
Oh and one more... It'd be really awesome to get another 4.0! Especially since this semester I'm taking 13 credits while working full time... But I'm not getting my hopes up for that one!
Well, I gotta go do my physical therapy strengthening exercises now... I am well on my way to accomplishing my New Years Resolutions! What about you?! ;)
